Ukraine and Russia, which are and will remain neighbors, will be in a state of permanent conflict after this war is over. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the BBC.

The intelligence officer is confident that the war, which has been going on in Ukraine for ten years, will end when the Armed Forces reach the 1991 borders. And this is possible even under Putin’s regime.

However, the enemy will not finally calm down, and tensions on the borders will remain. At the same time, according to Budanov, Ukraine will have a certain period of time, perhaps a long one. After that, the Russians will attack Ukraine again. This, according to the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, is absolutely normal, because Russia does not hide its intentions to destroy Ukraine.

“That is why this conflict will constantly appear, subside, reappear, and so on,” said Kyrylo Budanov.

He noted that for a significant part of their history, Ukrainians have been either making peace or fighting with Russians. This was the case during the Moscow Kingdom, the Russian Empire, and modern Russia. According to Kyrylo Budanov, there is no reason for the situation to change in the future.

The intelligence officer also noted that a difficult period is expected for Ukraine in late May and early June this year. Akin to the one at the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion. However, according to Kyrylo Budanov, Armageddon will not happen.
